The GOP vs. the Unemployed

Congressional Republicans have been in debt to giant insurance companies for so long that they have adopted their unethical corporate behavior as a governing tactic.

We became sadly familiar with one scam, called recission, wherein the insurer took your money until you needed to make a claim; then they decided you shouldn't be insured, and cancelled your policy. This can be for reasons ranging from the state of your marriage, to an unreported treatment of a pimple years before. This practice was ended by the Affordable Care Act.

Now after years of predatory financial practices by their biggest GOP Wall Street donors ruined our economy and brought 9% unemployment, Republicans want to stop unemployment insurance payments. The unemployment insurance, which protects the survival of Americans unemployed through no fault of their own, now is only extended to 48% of the jobless, and that's dropping daily.

The Republican party, after 30 years of pretending to care for the middle class, is adopting recission, from a larcenous insurance practice, to a model for larcenous governing, too.
