Reliably Anti-Environment

Once again, Rep. Andy Harris is showing his true anti-environment colors, telling Republican Central Committee members about his ideas for a “sane” American energy policy.

He urged them to “unleash the ability of America” by abandoning support for green energy efforts, and embracing fracking for natural gas without delay. If we can believe those who profit, it is perfectly safe.

Fracking pumps fluids into rock until it fractures, and natural gas escapes. We’re told that all of the escaping gas flows into a designated pipe. Never mind that wells nearby fracking sites have delivered flammable water. That’s a coincidental natural event.

Large aquifers supplying water to millions are a concern in Maryland. Taking time for an independent assessment is worthwhile.

By the way, let's thank the Star Democrat for its article about solar panels saving Talbot County hundreds of thousands of dollars - without threatening our water supply, or polluting the air.
