Our Corporate-Sponsored Congressman

The last time we heard from Andy Harris, he sent us a mailer about something that sounded like an award he'd gotten. But it turned out to be just a business referral gimmick with a word like "best" in it.
In The Star-Demnocrat on Nov.9, we see Andy getting another gimcrack "recognition" from "RetireSafe". Whozzat?

Retire Safe is a political "astroturf" organization. They're funded by a handful of the more disreputable "one-percenters" and megacorporations, big PhARMA, Republican lobbyists, and their sticky ilk. They spend their cash on alleged "grassroots" campaigns, wherein GOP activists hold big pencils in their toes so when they write letters to every editor, they sound like "reg'lar folk" - while they tell us how access to health care is bad, overpriced pharmaceuticals are good, and why our money belongs in their pockets.

So, we get another picture of Andy Harris, the Representative from NASCAR country on the shore, grippin' and grabbin'.
At least in NASCAR, they put giant logos on the cars, so you know who's really paying for them.
