Dr. Evans gave a very thoughtful response to a Star Democrat editorial addressing physician reimbursement. The statistics he presented were thought-provoking. In summary, he also advised that we get what we pay for.
According to the World Health Organization we rank #32 in results, although we are clearly #1 in per capita costs. We also suffer 45,000 unnecessary deaths annually due to a lack of health insurance.
That English patient may not get a CT scan on Saturdays, but at least he gets one; and he seems to have a better chance of survival.
