Harris: Missing in Action
Recently the Star Democrat published a letter from the Talbot County Counciland the Mayor of Easton thanking Senators Cardin and Mikulski for thier help in retaining the Post Office's Processing and Distribution facility in Easton. The matter is not settled so the Council and the Mayor requested further assistance from the Maryland Senators. A copy of the letter was sent to Congressman Harris.
It is inconceivable to me that a congressman would be missing in action in a matter so vital to his constituents. More than 120 jobs are at risk if the facility is closed. If the 2010 election was about jobs, you would think that Congressman Harris would be leading the charge to protect his constituents.
Why did the Council and the Mayor only copy the Congressman Harris rather than asking for his assistance? Is the congressman disinterested? Inneffective? Or perhaps both.
