Don't Blame the Tea Party

Democrats often blame the Tea Party for the policies of the Republican Party. I think the emphasis
on the Tea Party is misguided. The Tea Party did not exist when George Bush invaded Iraq and at
the same time cut taxes on those most able to pay. The Tea Party did not exist when Republican
leaders decided to obstruct every initiative of the Obama administration and block his appointees.
The Tea Party was not responsible for the rule or ruin approach Republican=s took when President
Obama took office.

Emphasis on the Tea Party encourages the fiction that part of the Republican Party is responsible
and has the ability to govern. Not true.

It was Mitch McConnel, the Republican minority leader, not a member of the Tea Party, who
stated his number one goal was defeating Barack Obama in 2012 not creating jobs, not protecting
the country from terrorists, just winning a political victory.

Voters must remember in November 2012 that the policies of the Republican Party have
devastated
our economy and threaten the fabric of our society. The Republican Party is the circus. The Tea
Party is just the sideshow.
