Did Harris Snooker the Nonprofits?

I was surprised to see legitimate nonprofit organizations -- the Alzheimer's Association, Delmarva Community Services and the United Way of Queen Anne's County -- allowing themselves to be associated with RetireSafe.  I'm referring to an article in in Nov. 9th Star Democrat. RetireSafe, described as a nonpartisan grassroots organization, was honoring Andy Harris for his "efforts to protect the health benefits" of seniors.  What's wrong with this picture?
No. 1, RetireSafe was created by the Council for Government Reform, which formerly called itself the Center for Privatization.  That's privatization in the Republican sense of ending Social Security and Medicare as we know them. It changed its name but not its goals. RetireSafe is in no way nonpartisan nor a grassroots organization.
No. 2, Andy Harris is an avowed enemy of Medicare -- he voted for the Paul Ryan plan to turn it into a voucher program.  It's clear that if he had had the chance, Tea Party Andy would have opposed the creation of Social Security and Medicare.  "Standing Up for America's Seniors"?  Hardly.
I hope that "nonpolitical" nonprofits will think twice in the future before participating in bogus awards by bogus organizations with radical political agendas.
